Ingredients:
4 boneless pork steaks
Salt and pepper
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 cup Merlot
5 oz. dried cherries (about 1 cup)
Make Dinner:
Season pork steaks with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat. Place pork steaks in hot oil and fry 5 minutes per side.
While steaks are cooking, dissolve brown sugar in water in a small mixing bowl. Add vinegar, soy sauce and Merlot. Mix well. Add dried cherries and stir to combine. Pour cherries and liquid over pork. Simmer pork steaks in liquid, turning periodically, 5-7 minutes per side until cooked through. Serve with steamed rice topped with the Cherry Merlot reduction.
