1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 head iceburg lettuce
1/2 pound smoked cheddar cheese (We like Tillamook!)
Heat BBQ grill to medium high. Using bare hands, form beef into 5 equal patties. Season patties with salt and pepper. Grill burgers for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked to medium well. During the last 2 minutes of cook time, top each patty with sliced smoked cheddar cheese. Close lid to BBQ and allow to cheese to melt. Separate lettuce into individual leaves. Serve burgers atop two large lettuce leaves. Top with ketchup and mustard.
