Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds ground pork
2 tsp. sesame oil
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. grated ginger
1 Tbsp. white sesame seeds
1/4 cup green onions
1 whole pineapple, peeled, cored and sliced
5 sesame seed buns
Teriyaki Sauce (Recipe Below)
Teriyaki Sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 cups + 1/2 cup water
2 tsp. minced garlic
8 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. honey or corn syrup
4 Tbsp. corn starch
Heat soy sauce, 2 cups water, garlic, brown sugar and honey in a small saucepan over medium low heat until just bubbly. While sauce is cooking, mix cornstarch and 1/2 cup water in separate cup until smooty. Add mixture to sauce. Stir and allow sauce to thicken.
Make Dinner:
Heat BBQ grill to medium high. Combine ground pork, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame seeds, and green onions in a large mixing bowl. Form meat into equal sized patties. Grill 5 minutes per side until cooked through.
Serve burgers on warm sesame buns topped with 2 Tbsp. Teriyaki Sauce and 1 slice pineapple. Sprinkle with extra sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
